This simple, convertible climbing triangle was designed with special care for babies. Inspired by Emmi Pikler's principles, the triangle's angle is adapted for safe climbing; its minimum height is 30 cm, but the overall height is only 50 cm. The foldable climbing triangle consists of two sides ( 60 cm long and 80 cm wide) connected by a special joint.

The ends of the steps are not rounded, but angled . This design provides additional stability during play , as the angles between the parts are maintained not only on the pegs but also across their plane of contact. The pegs are 28 mm in diameter , and their ends are recessed into 8 cm wide stair sections. If a triangle becomes uninteresting to a child over time, its edges can be extended and shaped using another triangle or arc.

The climbing ramp has built-in hooks at one end, but the other end is firmly fixed by two parallel steps , allowing the board to be connected to a triangle or other Montessori furniture components, making it longer and more versatile. One side of the ramp is very soft and smooth , while the other side has steps – both contributing to the development of physical skills and the synchronization of logical thinking and motor coordination.

What do the children develop using the mountaineering sets?

Climbing, sliding, swinging, logical thinking, movement coordination, spatial orientation, spatial imagination, balance, muscle strength, confidence in one's own abilities.

The surface is finished with a transparent, opal-white laminate coating that fully preserves the wood's natural grain and gently reflects daylight. The surface is very smooth, warm, and pleasant to the touch , while the material is so hard that scratches, scuffs, or stains are avoided . The edges are treated with a natural, slightly darker oil , subtly adding a touch of vintage style to the interior.

Connections

Using four special connectors, the sides of the triangle can be adjusted in length, creating various geometric combinations to suit the age and preferences of the children – it can be taller/shorter, more complex/simpler.
